
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) has taken over the case of a tragic child death in Metter, Georgia. A four-year-old boy named Kameron Jamel Williams was found dead in a car at the Summer Trace Apartment Complex on West Turner Street. The incident occurred on a Sunday, June 22, 2025, after Kameron was reported missing around 1:10 p.m., according to GBI's official statement.
Local police and family members launched a searc immediately upon receiving the report of the missing child. Kameron was subsequently found by a family member who discovered him lifeless inside a vehicle parked at the apartment complex. Surveillance footage suggested the person seen entering the car was likely Kameron, caught on camera as he wandered off from the safety of his home to the humid confines of the car where he was later found.
GBI has conducted an autopsy at the GBI Coastal Crime Lab Medical Examiner's Office to ascertain the exact cause of death, with results still pending. The sorrow that grips Metter's community now turns toward awaiting a hard truth about how the young boy's life came to such a sudden and devastating end.
The GBI has promised a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding Kameron's death. Upon completion, the case file will be handed over to the Middle Judicial Circuit District Attorney's Office. The GBI's focus has been on fact-finding and determining the sequence of events that led to the tragedy in a bid to provide much-needed answers to disrupted a community and a grieving family.
