According to an announcement from the Town of Gilbert, trail closures are set to commence on Monday, June 9 and will continue through Friday, June 13, 2025. The aim of this downtime is to grade the dirt trails and address areas that have developed uneven spots over time.
The work will necessitate the use of heavy equipment, including tractors, leading to intermittent closures of trail segments within the preserve. For the safety of the public, these areas will be off-limits while crews operate. Starting on the morning of June 9, the efforts to smooth the trails will begin in Area 1 and will sequentially move forward through to Area 6. The preserve's other facilities, however, will remain accessible.
