Gearing up for an influx of domestic and international visitors, Glendale's Convention & Visitors Bureau has undergone a facelift, decidedly dropping its previous moniker 'Visit Glendale' in favor of 'Experience Glendale,' a move teeming with the intent of reshaping tourist perceptions, according to a recent announcement on the City of Glendale's official website.
The rebranding initiative launched in a haze of high-octane celebration at Andretti Indoor Karting & Games' grand opening, an event that did not skimp on pomp with attractions that spanned mascot meet-and-greets, Arizona-themed festivities, influencer pit stops, and a gleaming drone light show to crown Experience Glendale Day; the bash drew a crowd over 2,000 strong. "Glendale is Arizona's premier entertainment destination with so many exciting things to do and we're thrilled to welcome the West Valley and beyond to enjoy everything we have to offer," Eddie Hamann, managing member of Andretti Indoor Karting & Games, told the City of Glendale during the grand opening.
Mayor Jerry P. Weiers delivered insights into Glendale's economic ascent, crediting an entertainment district in bloom, "The boom in our entertainment district has been phenomenal," and highlighting the rebrand as a mechanism to project their experiential economic growth, in a statement obtained by the City of Glendale, he affirmed that "The time is now to experience Glendale." Glendale's aspiration, firmly grounded in an economy where the value of an experience outshines mere sightseeing, is reflected starkly in the tailored Experience Glendale logo; it dovetails with the city's core identity while projecting its new, tourism-centric vision.
To embed its new identity throughout the city, Glendale plans to add the new logo to major signs and landmarks. This effort aims to visually guide both locals and visitors to connect with the city's brand while exploring. The rebrand also encourages deeper engagement with Glendale’s restaurants, shops, and entertainment spots. Details are available in the rebranding announcement on the Experience Glendale website, which offers helpful information for future visitors.
