To support residents seeking gainful employment and legal relief, Goodwill North Central Texas has teamed up with the Denton Municipal Court for a day of service dubbed the Expunction Clinic and Court in the Community event. Scheduled for June 25, local folks are invited to the Goodwill location on 2030 W. University Dr., where services will be conducted from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., per the City of Denton.
The Expunction Clinic aims to assist individuals with the removal of certain criminal charges from their records, a crucial step towards unhampered employment prospects. Goodwill is extending its assistance free to the first 50 eligible participants, provided they are current clients engaged in Goodwill’s employment program, and are either seeking work or currently employed while they navigate the expungement journey.
Coupled with the clinic, Denton Municipal Court will hold a Safe Harbor initiative enabling residents to address outstanding warrants without fear of apprehension. To avail themselves of this event, attendees must pre-register and bring two forms of identification, and depending on their needs, documentation for time served, community service, or inability to pay fines, and time payment plans.
