In an effort to arm Hamilton County parents and caregivers with crucial lifesaving and digital safety skills, the local Health Department is set to host a duo of informative webinars this June. "Knowing how to perform CPR on a child can mean the difference between life and death in a critical moment," Keri Key, with Hamilton County Public Safety Communications, underscored the importance of these skills in a statement retrieved by Hamilton County Health Department.
Tomorrow at 6:00 p.m., parents can tune in to a Children’s CPR webinar. Jointly led by the Health Department and Hamilton County Public Safety Communications, the session is specifically designed to quickly familiarize participants with pediatric emergency response techniques. This virtual workshop will be interactive, featuring certified professionals who are there to guide to properly administer critical aid. Interested individuals are required to register in advance through a link provided by the Health Department.
The second virtual seminar on June 18 at the same hour shifts focus, tackling online dangers with "Internet Safety for Parents." This webinar, a collaboration with the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, dives into a plethora of digital concerns such as cyberbullying, online predators, privacy settings, and fostering transparent conversations about internet use at home. Detective Larry Bendzen, from the Hamilton County Metro Child Exploitation Task Force, told the Hamilton County Health Department: "The online world can be a dangerous place if children aren’t guided properly."
Both sessions are key elements in a broader strategy by the Hamilton County Health Department, striving to support the well-being of families. Health Educator James Ginder explained the department's motives, stating, "We recognize that parenting today comes with a unique set of challenges." He further emphasized the department’s commitment to providing relevant resources to enable caregivers to properly respond and safeguard their children's safety.
Those wanting to attend these informative webinars can find more information and registration details on the Health Department's official website.
