Hart County, Georgia is on high alert as authorities continue their search for Greata Nichole Thomas, a 26-year-old woman wanted for the fatal shooting of Breiana Danielle Johnson, a 34-year-old woman. According to information obtained by FOX 5 Atlanta, deputies, and emergency responders were called to a residence on Barton Road in Royston around 4:49 p.m. Saturday where Johnson was found with a gunshot wound and pronounced dead at the scene.
Thomas, who has been described as a white woman, approximately 5-feet 1-inch tall and weighs about 97 pounds, is considered armed and dangerous. In a statement obtained by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, authorities urged the public not to approach Thomas and instead call 911 immediately with any information regarding her whereabouts. She also goes by the last name Mobley, and might have been driving a 2008 gray Honda Accord bearing the Alabama tag 13ABB80, which was found abandoned on Sunday near Iva, South Carolina.
The Hart County Sheriff's Office is pursuing leads and has not yet released a motive for the shooting nor details on what led up to the incident. They are currently working on this investigation alongside, a separate homicide case at a residence off Omer Bond Road.
As the search intensifies for Thomas, law enforcement continues to request the assistance of the community. "This is an active and ongoing investigation," the sheriff's office reminded the public, implying that the collection of evidence and witness testimonies are paramount in piecing together the events that led to Johnson's untimely death, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
