Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) troopers faced a dangerous pursuit on I-75 in Franklin Township, involving a high-speed chase and a rollover crash. LOCAL12 reported that the chase began on May 29 when a GMC Envoy was detected traveling at 82 mph in a 65 mph zone. Despite attempts to initiate a stop, the driver, later identified as Jennifer Wilson, refused to comply, and a pursuit ensued.
The high-speed chase culminated with the suspect's vehicle swerving off the road, rolling several times, before coming to a halt in the median, as documented by OSHP. According to a report by POLICE1. Wilson was charged with offenses including operating a vehicle while impaired, failure to comply with a police order, and operating a vehicle without reasonable control. A nurse who witnessed the incident provided assistance until emergency crews arrived.
In an unrelated incident on I-75 in Moraine, dramatic footage released by police showcased a white pickup truck engaged in a wrong-way crash, resulting in a multi-vehicle collision. As captured by OSHP, the truck entered the northbound lanes heading southbound, leading to an impact that involved five additional cars. WDTN shared the video and initial reports suggested that while the injuries sustained were minor, the situation had been precarious.
The sequence of events began with the truck being pursued in Perry Township, with the chase ultimately called off by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office for safety before being resumed due to the heightened danger to the public. Maj. Jeremy Roy of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office told WDTN, "If you are going to put everybody’s life in danger, and get it to the point where you are going into the opposite lanes of traffic, going head on and some innocent person is going to get killed, we’re going to do the best we can to get you off that road." This statement came after the suspect vehicle attempted to strike an unmarked police car, and occupants reportedly began hurling wooden planks at officers during the pursuit.
