
In an early morning incident on Route 24 in Taunton, Massachusetts, a high-speed pursuit led by state police resulted in the crash of a white BMW X5 SUV, leaving five individuals injured. According to NBC Boston, the chase began when a state trooper recorded the vehicle traveling at speeds exceeding 100 mph and, despite attempts to pull the driver over, the SUV's speed escalated to an estimated 130 mph before crashing.
The pursuit came to a dramatic end as the driver lost control, and after the crash, first responders immediately provided aid, this incident occurred around 4 a.m. today, all five occupants of the vehicle were transported to local hospitals where they were listed in stable condition. In the aftermath, state troopers on the scene secured the area and initiated an investigation into the high-speed chase which is still in progress as stated by MassLive.
The identities of the individuals involved have not been released at this time, nor has the reason behind the refusal to stop for the traffic stop been made clear.
