A Holly Hill man, David McKeown, was arrested yesterday on multiple felony counts, including possession of child sexual abuse material and engaging in sexual activities with animals. This grim revelation emerged following an investigation initiated after a tip-off from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. ClickOrlando reported that detectives allegedly found incriminating content on the man's personal and school-owned devices.
According to the Holly Hill Police Department, McKeown faces 19 counts of possessing child pornography alongside six counts involving animal sexual activities. After searching his home and UBIC Academy, where he taught, detectives uncovered a host of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and evidence of illegal conduct with animals. Detectives, when perusing McKeown's social media, found messages where students’ personal information was disseminated, their photographs sent, and that he used artificial intelligence to generate child pornography.
The investigation, which involved both the local police and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) as part of a statewide effort to combat child sex crimes, took a more harrowing turn when it was discovered that some of these activities were carried out at the school. WFTV detailed how McKeown allegedly exploited the school's Wi-Fi network during instructional hours to download and share this prohibited material.
Community members are deeply shaken by the allegations, given McKeown's position as an educator and the implicit trust placed in him by parents and students alike. The police have urged anyone with related information to come forward to assist in the ongoing investigation.
