
In a recent police operation in Holyoke, officers seized over 100 vials of cocaine and arrested a Chicopee man on drug charges. According to the Holyoke Police Department Facebook post, the incident occurred during a quality-of-life property check on South Bridge Street around 11:00 a.m. yesterday.
According to Police Chief Brian Keenan, officers encountered 43-year-old Richard Cokotis, who told them he was carrying a knife. During a pat-down by Officers Thomas Spafford, Joel Mateo, Joshua Salas, and Steven Negron—supervised by Sergeant Dustin Summers—police found a substance in Cokotis’ pocket later confirmed to be cocaine by Detective Jared Hamel.
Cokotis was charged with possession with intent to distribute and possession of a Class B drug. Police also recovered approximately 111 vials of suspected cocaine and over $100 in cash.
