
The Horizon City Police Department issued a safety alert following a residential gas leak detected in the vicinity of South Kenazo Avenue and Duanesburg Street. An announcement was made via their official Facebook page, with law enforcement and the local fire department responding to the scene.
To secure the perimeter and ensure the safety of residents, streets surrounding the location have been closed to the public. Texas Gas Service technicians are actively working to manage and stop the source of the leak. As of their last update, no evacuations had been ordered, but the residents living nearby were instructed to stay indoors, and furthermore, were warned against using open flames or operating electrical switches until the situation could be brought under control, according to the Horizon City Police Department.
Authorities emphasized the importance of steering clear of the affected area, suggesting that the community use alternative routes to allow emergency teams to address the issue without impediments. The police department also indicated that they will continue to provide updates as the situation evolves.
