Horizon City witnessed a commotion on Thursday night when a vehicle collided with a rock wall and rolled over in the 700 block of Teichelkamp. The incident, which occurred around 8:14 PM, prompted a swift response from the Horizon City Police. The driver, now confirmed as Mauro E. Esquivel Rosales, attempted to flee the accident scene but was subsequently captured by law enforcement.
After Rosales was located, he underwent a medical evaluation and, being cleared of any immediate health concerns, was arrested. Charges filed against him by the Horizon City Police included Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) and Duty on Striking a Structure, Fixture, or Landscaping. According to the Horizon City Police Department, Rosales's total bond was set at $2,000.
The aftermath of such incidents always leaves more than just physical debris, there are the remnants of safety violated, and the administrative follow-through that ensues to reaffirm communal norms. Rosales was processed by these norms, ending up in the El Paso County Detention Facility to await further legal proceedings.
