This afternoon, the HFD Honor Guard Academy held its first graduation ceremony, celebrating the completion of training by firefighters from across the state in drill procedures and firefighter funeral operations.
The ceremony, held at 2 p.m. in the HCC Main Campus auditorium at 1300 Holman St., brought together firefighters from multiple departments for a solemn and significant event. The graduates demonstrated the skills they developed to honor fallen comrades through carefully coordinated funeral rites, paying tribute to retirees, active members, and especially those who lost their lives in the line of duty, according to the City of Houston.
