An Illinois man was apprehended by the Maryland State Police following a shooting incident on the highway, with connections to others in Pennsylvania. According to Maryland State Police, they detained Christian Ramos, 28, from Aurora, Illinois, for his alleged involvement in late-night shootings on Interstate 83 in Baltimore County, and potentially three additional incidents along the same highway across the state line.
Ramos is facing serious charges, including three counts of attempted first-degree murder, following the events on Wednesday night. No one was injured, although a vehicle with a two-year-old inside was among those hit. The state police's forensic team analyzed the victim's Toyota Prius, discovering a bullet hole in the passenger-side window. During the investigation, law enforcement identified Ramos using dashcam footage and interviews.
In a statement obtained by the original reporting source, the suspect was linked to a Tag Trans Inc. tractor-trailer, which was later found at a travel center in Elkton. Ramos was arrested without incident. The search of his vehicle yielded a loaded .45-caliber handgun, ammunition, and spent shell casings, suggesting preparedness for more than a solitary incident.
