Expect some delays if you're planning to travel along Interstate 10 between the Texas State Line and Coone Gully. The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has announced necessary closures for eastbound and westbound lanes. Starting from 8 p.m. yesterday and lasting until noon on Sunday, one direction will see closures. Similarly, from 7 p.m. today through to 6 a.m. on Monday, the other direction will shut down intermittently.
These interruptions are part of a project to install temporary striping on the interstate. According to an announcement by the DOTD, road users are advised to drive cautiously near the construction zones and to be aware of the presence of work crews and their equipment.
In addition to the closures, the DOTD has issued a safety reminder for those in proximity to the construction site. They've asked the public to exercise patience and caution when driving, walking, or biking.
Local residents and regular commuters should plan ahead for potential delays. Despite the inconvenience, the DOTD emphasizes that the striping is essential for maintaining road safety and improving traffic flow in the long term.
