Grab your sneakers and get ready to join fellow community members for a stroll through the scenic trails of St. Louis Park. According to the City of St. Louis Park, Westwood Hills Nature Center is inviting locals to "Walk the Park" on Saturday, June 14, from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. Participants will have the opportunity to walk along the center's trails, starting at the interpretive center's main entrance located at 8300 W. Franklin Ave.
This monthly gathering aims to build community and foster appreciation for the area's natural beauty. It's a free event that promises to casually bring together people of all ages and backgrounds. In the case of inclement weather, the event will not be canceled. Instead, walkers will meet at the back entrance door 16 of St. Louis Park Middle School, 2025 Texas Ave. S., to continue their stroll indoors, as per the City of St. Louis Park.
The "Walk the Park" initiative is not a one-time affair but an ongoing series set on the second Saturday of each month. These get-togethers provide an excellent chance for locals to stay active and connect with their environment. The upcoming walks, as listed on the city's announcement, will feature Louisiana Oaks and Oak Hill parks on July 12, Creekside Trail on August 9, and the Bass Lake Preserve/George Haun Trail on September 13.
