The summer just got a bit cooler in Kingsport with the announcement from Kingsport Public Library that their Friday Lunchtime Live concerts are back, and they've made the move to the Kingsport Farmers Market. After migrating to the Fort Henry Mall, the library ensures this space will be alive with the sound of music from June 6 through July 18. Roll out at noon every Friday, where the tunes are free and so is the fresh air.

For its fifth year conveyor, the beloved series kicks off with Ron Short & the Possum Playboys on June 6, including an appearance by the Lazzzy Chicken Food Truck. Every week, except for a skip on July 4, a new performer and, on most dates, a different food truck will spice up your lunch hour. Grab a chair, maybe a blanket, and certainly your appetite – both for local music and the variety of eats on offer.

Musical variety is the spice of these events, with acts like Kingsport Community Band and Moira Murphy taking the stage in June. The ETSU Bluegrass Pride Band will be stringing it out on the final day, July 18. Attendees will have the chance to groove to the rhythm or just enjoy their lunch in a more melodic environment. It's a casual affair, so music lovers can weave in and out as their lunch break allows.

According to the library's announcement, Friends of the Kingsport Public Library are the series' sponsors. Their support ensures that these summer concerts remain an accessible delight for all within the community, without the burden of a ticket price. With a different food truck parked and ready to serve most weeks, there's sure to be an array of local flavors to complement the eclectic sounds.

Come June 6, the Farmers Market on 308 Clinchfield Street will be the place to be, swapping produce for performance as the library takes live music to new, lunch-friendly heights.
