Residents of Sutters Mill Apartments were given a reminder of the dangers lurking in one's kitchen last evening. At approximately 6:26 PM, the Knoxville Fire Department (KFD) was summoned to the site of a kitchen fire within the complex. According to a social media post by KFD, the responders "were able to quickly locate and extinguish the fire." The incident, fortunately, resulted in no reported injuries, though one apartment unit suffered from smoke, fire, and water damage.
Such emergencies are far from uncommon in the area, with KFD noting that kitchen fires hold the honor of being the number one type of fire in Knoxville, as well as nationally.
