A Knoxville man is currently facing charges following an incident involving an Amazon delivery driver. Michael Ensor, 56, has been charged with aggravated assault after reportedly firing a gun during a dispute with a delivery driver on Saturday evening, according to court records provided by WBIR.

The driver, who was delivering a package to Ensor's residence on Norris Freeway around 5:20 p.m., called 911 after the homeowner came out, yelled at him, and discharged a firearm. The driver said Ensor was holding "a black firearm," and fired one shot as the driver returned to his truck. Ensor later admitted to law enforcement that he believed his home was being invaded and fired the shot into a flower bed, as reported by WVLT.

Evidence from Ensor's security system, including doorbell camera footage, was reviewed by the police. Court records noted that the footage depicted Ensor in a heated discussion with the driver, with the gun visibly pointed in his direction at times. This information was corroborated by the account provided to WATE, which shared that Ensor was "in a 'verbal altercation' with the delivery driver and 'periodically' pointing the gun in his direction."

Although Ensor claimed he fired the weapon because he thought his home was being burglarized, the incident nonetheless resulted in his arrest without further complications. The driver was not injured during the confrontation, and Ensor is expected in court to face the charges filed against him. As of the latest update, he was not listed on the Knox County Jail roster.
