Heads up, drivers – your usual route may need a shake-up starting next Friday. The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) has announced an overnight closure of Route AB, better known as Ladue Road, over Route 141 and S. Woods Mill. According to MoDOT, the road will be closed from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. on June 13 for sealing work on the bridge's driving surface, part of the department's routine preventative maintenance to keep things rolling smoothly.
Diversions are inevitable, and the options are many. If you're heading northbound on 141, you can still take the ramp to Ladue, but only for a right turn. Westbound Ladue seekers will need to reroute via Olive Boulevard and S. Woods Mill. Now, if you're southbound on Route 141 aiming for Ladue, you’ll have to continue farther, with a couple of rights at Brookings Park Drive and then S. Woods Mill, to reach westbound Ladue, or pull a U-turn at Brookings/S. Lukes Hospital Drive to catch eastbound Ladue.
It's not just Ladue Road regulars who need to listen up: S. Woods Mill Road is also taking a hit. While westbound Ladue exits stay open, eastbound Ladue is off-limits here. MoDOT advises heading south on S. Woods Mill, grabbing a left on Brookings Park Drive, then another left onto Route 141 to finally hop onto eastbound Ladue.
This overnight construction dance wraps up swiftly – by the morning of Saturday, June 14 at exactly 7 a.m. when all lanes will reopen. Be sure to plan ahead, because one thing's for sure, the prevention is necessary, but the timing, perhaps, not ideal for those caught unawares.
