Get ready to chow down by the picturesque Lake Sidney Lanier, as the Lake Lanier Olympic Park's Food Truck Friday returns for its third installment on June 20. From 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., visitors can savor a diverse array of culinary delights, from fresh catfish to authentic Vietnamese cuisine, according to a press release issued yesterday by the City of Gainesville. This foodie paradise will also include a live music lineup, kicking off with Good Jenny's blend of country, pop, and rock, followed by the Americana vibes of Bone Daddys.
In conjunction with the Georgia Police and Fire Games, families joining the Food Truck Friday will have a chance to experience a public safety showcase. According the release by the City of Gainesville, this includes an opportunity for children and families to get up close and personal with patrol cars, motorcycles, Can-Am multipurpose vehicles, and fire engines. With free entry to the festivities and concerts, the Lake Lanier Olympic Park invites the community to partake in these entertaining summer evenings, complete with live music, food trucks, as well as beer and wine tents.
The series, sponsored by the City of Gainesville, will continue beyond June, featuring new musical performances and more food and beverage options on July 18 and August 15. Further details on the event, including retail vendor participation from the likes of the Hall County Library System – downtown Gainesville branch and Lanier Rowing Club, can be found on the event's Facebook page or by visiting their website.
For those who prefer a more private dining experience, advance reservations for lakeside seating are available. A reservation fee of $45 will get your party an 8-foot table, including four seat cushions and two end chairs, ensuring you have plenty of room for your gastronomic indulgence. But don't wait too long, as seating is limited and offered on first-come, first-served basis. Park services suggest visitors utilize the shuttle service from New Horizons Lanier Park to avoid parking woes, as noted in an announcement by the City of Gainesville.
Thank yous are in order for the June 20 sponsors, which include Moore's Wealth Management, Jim Shorkey Auto Group, and The Crest at Oakwood, in addition to Chastain Insurance Agency for supporting the food trucks. So, if you're looking for a mix of great food, live music and lakeside sunsets, make sure to mark your calendars for a full-on feast at 3105 Clarks Bridge Road in Gainesville.
