Looking ahead to autumn, the Macomb County Office of Senior Services is on the hunt for sponsors and vendors ready to support their 34th annual Senior Fun Festival. This yearly celebration of seniors and their supporters is slated for Thursday, September 25, between the hours of 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., taking place at the Lorenzo Cultural Center, Macomb Community College, you know, that big educational building at 44575 Garfield Road in Clinton Township. Think wellness, raffles, freebies, and a community vibe for the older set.
The senior demographic in Macomb County has a day to circle on their calendar, and businesses have a chance to showcase their commitment and services specifically tailored for the golden-aged crowd. "Each year, the Senior Fun Festival gets bigger, better and more impactful," Macomb County Executive Mark Hackel told the Macomb County Office of Senior Services. He's also doubling up as the master of ceremonies again. The event aims not just to entertain, but also to connect seniors and caregivers with practical, potentially life-enhancing resources.
Giveaways, goodies, and grand times are a given, as far as Sheila Cote, who helms the Macomb County Office of Senior Services, is concerned. And based on last year's turnout, we're talking a crowd of over a thousand older adults and caregivers and more than 100 vendors. Cote added, per the Macomb County Office of Senior Services, “It is a great opportunity to engage this important group of residents who are so vital to our community.”
If your organization serves seniors or their caregivers, here's your moment in the spotlight. Getting involved could not be simpler, with sponsorship packages starting off at $800 and climbing up to $5,000, according to the Macomb County Department of Health and Human Services Director/Health Officer, Andrew Cox. Details on sponsorships and vendor tables run the gamut, but act swiftly because registration for sponsorships shuts down on August 15, and vendor tables are going like hotcakes.
