
A stabbing incident that occurred in Portland's Montavilla neighborhood yesterday has resulted in the arrest of a 24-year-old man. The Portland Police Bureau reports that the assault took place in the 9100 block of Southeast Stark Street at approximately 9:29 AM. The victim, whom officers found at the scene, sustained serious injuries and was promptly transported to the hospital for treatment.
Witnesses described the suspect following the stabbing. With the suspect having fled the scene, the description was broadcast over the police radio. Located about 10 blocks away from the crime scene, Michael W. Kash Kash was apprehended by police at the corner of Southeast 82nd Avenue and Southeast Stark Street at 9:53 AM. Upon his arrest, a knife was seized as evidence.
According to the Portland Police Bureau's statement, the rapid response of the officers led to the successful location and apprehension of Kash Kash. "The first arriving officers spoke to witnesses and obtained a detailed description of the suspect," the police statement outlined.
The Major Crimes Unit of the Portland Police Bureau is now handling further investigation into the stabbing. Michael W. Kash Kash currently faces charges of Assault in the First Degree and Unlawful Use of a Weapon.
