A shooting in Brockton, Massachusetts has left a man critically injured yesterday afternoon. According to NBC Boston, the incident took place around 5:15 p.m. outside 21 Torrey Street, an address linked with Points West Plaza. The 33-year-old male victim was initially reported as 27, before police issued a correction on his age.
At the scene, aerial footage showed a noticeable police presence outside a Wingstop at the shopping plaza. Unfortunately, as of now, no arrests have been made in connection to the shooting. Brockton Police Department has called upon the public for any information.
In a closely linked report by WCVB, witnesses described a chaotic situation involving two people fighting on Belmont Street, which quickly escalated. Police, originally responding to the altercation, were redirected to the nearby shooting.
"I saw a man down holding his chest, and two Wingstop employees were trying to help him," one witness told WCVB, choosing to remain anonymous. Sky5 footage captured by the outlet displayed the cordoned scene, where a bicycle lay in a state of abandonment, and an unidentified object in the parking lot's midst. Following the incident, two individuals on a moped were seen fleeing the area and a police chase ensued, starting near Belmont Street.
