
Early this morning, a man was shot in St. Louis' Central West End neighborhood, an incident that is now under investigation by local authorities. According to a report by St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, officers responded to a call around 3:15 a.m. in the vicinity of the 10 block of S. Taylor Avenue where they discovered a 33-year-old man with gunshot wounds.
The victim, whose name has not been released, was quickly attended to by emergency medical services and taken to a hospital, where he was described as being in critical but stable condition the man at this time is unable to give a statement due to the severity of his injuries. The early findings suggest there was some kind of altercation between the injured man and an unidentified male which escalated, leading to the shooting, and the suspect apparently left the scene immediately after the incident.
As the investigation proceeds, the police have not offered any description of the suspect nor have they indicated if any arrests have been made. The St. Louis Metropolitan Police are urging anyone with information to come forward and assist in their ongoing investigations.
