A motorcycle crash in Midtown has left a man critically injured, according to local Memphis authorities. The incident, which involved another vehicle, occurred yesterday at the intersection of North McLean Boulevard and Madison Avenue. Action News 5 reported that the Memphis Police Department (MPD) responded just after 2:20 a.m.
The injured man was swiftly transported to Regional One Health for medical attention where his condition remains serious; the details surrounding the crash are still emergent, with police confirming the direction of the two vehicles involved, one was westbound on Madison Avenue and the other northbound on McLean Boulevard but the sequence of events that led to their collision at the intersection is still being pieced apart, as per the FOX13 Memphis report.
The MPD's Special Traffic Investigation Squad (STIS) was on the scene to take charge of the investigation shortly after the crash. Though an official crash report has been produced, it "is not to scale and may be revised" as the investigation progresses. This hints at the preliminary nature of the available information, according to a statement acquired by Local Memphis.
