
A tragic hit-and-run incident in Whitehaven has left one man dead, triggering an investigation by the Memphis Police Department (MPD). According to Action News 5, the crash occurred on the 4300 block of Millbranch Road at approximately 7:07 p.m. yesterday evening. Reports from the scene indicated that two vehicles were involved, and one of them fled before police could hastily arrive.
The victim, whose identity has not yet been released, was transported to the hospital in critical condition but was pronounced dead soon after. FOX13 Memphis reported that the area on Millbranch Road between Finley Road and Janis Drive was temporarily shut down while MPD conducted their investigation. The authorities are appealing to anyone with information to come forward and contact CrimeStoppers at 901-528-CASH.
A City Watch was issued by MPD approximately an hour and a half after the incident, as stated by Local Memphis. The advisory alerted residents about the temporary road closure, which continued until around 9:50 p.m., following which traffic patterns were restored to normal.
