
A fatal shooting has occurred in Kingsway East, where a man was found with a gunshot wound to the neck earlier yesterday. According to a report by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department (SLMPD), a District 5 officer came upon the man after he stumbled into the street and collapsed at the intersection of St Louis Ave and N Kingshighway at approximately 1:35 a.m.
Emergency Medical Services were called to the scene, and the victim was promptly transported to a nearby hospital. Unfortunately, the man was pronounced dead upon arrival. The investigation, now in the hands of homicide detectives is still in progress, in search for more details surrounding the deadly incident.
A related crime scene was discovered in the rear of a residence in the 4900 block of St Louis Ave, potentially shedding light on the circumstances that led to the man's fatal injury. As of now, no suspects have been identified, and the identity of the deceased has yet to be released pending family notification.
The area of Kingsway East, not unfamiliar with the echoes of gun violence, has witnessed another life lost to a bullet's indiscriminate judgment.
