Early this morning, in a tragic turn of events, a man was killed and a woman injured during a shooting in Kearny Mesa, San Diego. According to a press release sent via email by the San Diego Police Department, the Eastern Division Patrol officers were notified about the incident at 8065 Clairemont Mesa Blvd.. They arrived at the scene at around 4:40 AM. Both victims were discovered with gunshot wounds and were promptly given first aid before being transported to a local hospital by San Diego Fire/Rescue.
The San Diego Police Department's Homicide investigators have begun to unravel the details behind the event that took place at Nara Ultra Lounge hookah bar. An altercation reportedly erupted, which ultimately led to the shooting. A suspect, described as a Black male in his 20s, quickly fled the area in an unidentified vehicle. The investigation is ongoing, with the scene being meticulously processed for evidence and witnesses being interviewed to piece together the sequence of events.
The violence sadly culminated in the death of a 21-year-old Hispanic male, whose identity has yet to be disclosed as authorities await the appropriate time for family notification. The second victim, a 37-year-old Black female, was also caught in the crossfire. After receiving treatment at the hospital, she was released. At the time of the incident, many individuals were in attendance and had dispersed before law enforcement arrived at the bar.
