A manhunt is underway for 31-year-old Jeremiah Clanton, who is wanted in connection with a fatal shooting outside the Saint Vincent de Paul charity on Tucker Road in Chamblee. The incident occurred around 7:45 a.m. Friday during a food distribution event, according to FOX 5 Atlanta.

Chamblee Police responded to the scene and found a man with a gunshot wound to the chest. Despite receiving aid and being transported to a hospital by DeKalb County Fire Rescue, the victim died from his injuries.

Surveillance footage captured the shooting. Authorities believe Clanton fled the scene on foot toward the Chamblee MARTA station, WSB-TV reported. He is considered armed and dangerous.

Both Clanton and the victim had previously received services from the charity, according to officials. Saint Vincent de Paul Georgia issued a statement expressing condolences and reaffirming its commitment to safety and service.

Authorities are urging anyone with information on Clanton’s location to contact the Chamblee Police Department or call Crime Stoppers at 404-577-TIPS. Police advise the public not to approach the suspect.
