Marietta authorities are investigating two suspected arson incidents that damaged multiple vehicles at used car dealerships early morning yesterday. Fires broke out at ALM Marietta, located at 1071 Cobb Parkway, and Unlimited Auto Group of Marietta, located nearby at 1233 Cobb Parkway. Firefighters responded quickly to both scenes, where several vehicles were found burning.
According to FOX 5 Atlanta, Marietta Police reported that two vehicles were damaged at one location and three at the other. No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
Surveillance footage obtained by investigators may provide key evidence. Atlanta News First reported that the footage shows a person walking up to the vehicles at ALM Marietta, followed by a fire breaking out seconds later. This has led officials to treat the incidents as intentional acts of arson.
