Marietta residents looking to stay informed on city updates can mark their calendars for two upcoming City Council meetings. Announced via a Civic Alert today, the City Council will convene for an agenda work session on Monday, July 7, starting at 5:15 PM. Subsequently, Wednesday, July 9, will feature an agenda review session at 6:00 PM, leading into the Council’s regular meeting at 7:00 PM.
The meetings, which are to be held in the Council Chamber on the lobby level of City Hall at 205 Lawrence Street, are open to the public, who have the choice to attend either in person or virtually. For those who prefer to stream, the sessions will be broadcast live on the city's website, with recordings available for later viewing. Access to these meetings and the broadcast can be found at mariettaga.gov.
Continuing the spirit of community engagement, the City Council has scheduled informal discussions to take place immediately after each meeting. This initiative, allowing for a more personal connection between the council members and their constituents, fosters a space for dialogue and exchange of thoughts in the very same Council chamber where the formal decisions take shape.
For individuals who prefer to prepare in advance, meeting agendas will be posted online before the respective sessions to ensure transparency and provide citizens the opportunity to be as informed as possible. All the material related to the meetings, including agendas, can be conveniently found on the city’s official website. Anyone requiring additional information or having specific inquiries about the Council meetings may reach out directly at 770-794-5509 for further assistance.
