Graduation season is underway in Memphis, with ceremonies recognizing individuals who have completed their educational requirements. Last Friday, The Excel Center’s Class of 2025 held its graduation at the historic Orpheum Theatre.
As highlighted in a recent social media post, Chief Deputy Anthony Buckner of the Shelby County Sheriff's Office had the privilege of addressing the graduates as their commencement speaker. The graduation ceremony at the Orpheum Theatre marked the completion of academic requirements and highlighted the personal efforts of students who balanced education with work, family responsibilities, and other life challenges. Chief Deputy Buckner’s remarks acknowledged the multiple responsibilities graduates managed while pursuing their studies.
The event included formal ceremony and received attention on social media and within the broader Shelby County community. The Sheriff's Office's post further iterated, "Congratulations to the Excel Center’s Class of 2025! Your future is bright, and we’re proud to be part of your story," reflecting a community acknowledgment that the graduates’ accomplishments reach beyond the educational setting.
