
Over six months ago, the intersection of Poplar Avenue and North Alicia Drive was the site of a significant traffic collision, which has yet to find closure due to a lack of information surrounding the events that transpired that day. On December 11, 2024, at approximately 10:20 a.m., Memphis Police responded to a crash involving a red car and a black motorcycle, as reported by the Memphis Police Department. The rider of the motorcycle was seriously injured and needed urgent medical attention at Regional One Health Hospital.
Surveillance footage from nearby cameras captured the aftermath of the collision, showing the driver of the red car, identified as a Black female, inspecting the damage to her vehicle before leaving the scene. The police are now seeking aid from the public to shed light on this incident, specifically with regards to the driver who departed heading south on North Alicia Drive, potentially leaving critical answers and aspects of the incident in her rearview. A plea has been made to anyone who may have information related to this unfortunate event to come forward and contact Crime Stoppers at 528-CASH.
