The Memphis Police Department (MPD) has recently been lauded on a national platform, showcasing its dedication to community engagement and crime prevention. According to a social media post by the Memphis Police Department, their attendance at the PLECET 2025 National Conference in Chicago was not only a moment of pride but also of recognition. MPD's C.O.P.S. Unit garnered the title of Community Engagement Agency of the Year for their work in strengthening ties within the community.
Simultaneously, the MPD's Auto Theft Task Force (ATTF) has been making strides in crime intervention. The ATTF's relentless efforts in recovering stolen vehicles and seizing illegal firearms earned them the IAATI Merit Award at the same event. "Their outstanding commitment to strengthening community relationships is setting a national benchmark for excellence," affirms the MPD's announcement.
"We’re proud of both teams for representing Memphis with excellence and dedication on the national stage," the department stated in their release.
