According to a news release posted by the Memphis Police Department, the incident happened last Tuesday around 4:15 p.m. The suspect is reported to have entered the location, made a fountain drink, and then proceeded to threaten the clerk with a handgun after becoming agitated.
The suspect left the truck stop prior to officers arriving on the scene, after brandishing the weapon. He was described as male and was last seen wearing orange and white shorts, a black sweatshirt, a black cap, and was carrying a black Nike backpack. Citizens who may have been driving by the location, after the suspect left the store, they might have seen which direction he went.
The Memphis Police Department is requesting assistance from the community regarding the aggravated assault that occurred in the 3800 block of Lamar Avenue.
