Less than a month earlier, a similar theft occurred at the Mapco on Poplar Avenue, where an unidentified suspect took cigarettes without paying and fled before the clerk could respond. In another case, a suspected repeat offender committed a misdemeanor theft at an AutoZone on Jackson Avenue, aggressively confronting employees while stealing a battery. These multiple incidents have raised concern among local retailers, who are now urging the public to help identify and apprehend the bold shoplifters.
Further cases include the fraudulent use of credit and debit cards along Park Avenue and another theft at The Vitamin Shoppe on Winchester Road, where an estimated $500 worth of products was stolen by a single male suspect who then drove away in a white Chrysler 200, as detailed by the Memphis Police Department.
