
Memphis police are currently searching for a suspect involved in an aggravated assault that occurred earlier this week. The incident took place near the intersection of North Danny Thomas and Poplar Avenue on Tuesday. A male victim was found at the scene and quickly transported to Regional One Hospital in critical condition.
According to the Memphis Police Department's news release, the attack happened at approximately 6:24 p.m. Surveillance footage from the area has provided a description of the suspect—a Black male with dreadlocks. He was last seen wearing a black ball cap, a white t-shirt, black pants, white shoes, and a black necklace. After the incident, he was caught on video fleeing the scene on foot, heading westbound on Exchange Avenue from Lauderdale at about 6:15 p.m.
The Memphis Police Department is urging anyone who may have information regarding this aggravated assault to come forward. A call to Crime Stoppers at 528-CASH can aid the police in their ongoing investigation and offer potential leads to the perpetrator's whereabouts.
