A late-night robbery at a Mapco gas station has Memphis authorities searching for a male suspect who stole a vehicle at knifepoint. The incident occurred on June 6 at the Mapco located at 2142 Central Avenue. According to the Memphis Police Department's news release, the robbery took place just before 11 p.m. when the suspect confronted the vehicle owner with a knife and demanded the keys.
The vehicle involved in the robbery, a 2025 Buick Encore, was taken from the victim by the assailant who has been described as a Black male in his early twenties, wearing a black Nike hat, watch, black t-shirt, khaki shorts, and white tennis shoes, he also weighs about 170 pounds and he could have tattoos on his arms. The Memphis Police are seeking assistance from anyone who might have information about the crime, urging witnesses or those with knowledge of the suspect's whereabouts to call Crime Stoppers at 528-CASH.
The description of the suspect provided by law enforcement offers a detailed physical profile: a thin Black male between the ages of 20-25, about 5’10”-6’0″ tall. The suspect was notably brandishing a knife during the robbery, adding an element of danger to the crime. Citizens are cautioned not to approach the suspect but rather to contact authorities if they have any pertinent information.
