Memphis police are on the lookout for a suspect following an aggravated assault incident on Ezell Street last Monday. The confrontation, which stemmed from a dispute over music late in the evening, quickly escalated. According to the Memphis Police Department, after the initial argument, the suspect began making threats to the victim's life.
What started as a verbal altercation took an unexpected turn when the suspect left and then returned with a rifle. The suspected assailant was described as a Black male between 30 and 40 years old, heavyset, and was last seen wearing a black shirt, blue jean shorts, and blue shoes. Witnesses reported that the suspect fired a single shot into the air, then collected the spent casing and fled the scene in a blue-gray SUV with Mississippi license plates.
Investigators are urging anyone with information to come forward. They are especially interested in locating the blue-gray SUV connected to the case.
