Miami welcomes another day of potential fury from the skies, with weather sources signaling an extended flood watch and a high chance of rain through the evening. According to The National Weather Service, there's a 90% chance of precipitation today, with possible thunderstorms and showers preceding 5 pm, after which the likelihood of thunderstorms goes up; concerned Miamians should be wary of how much rain has already fallen, as new rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch are forecasted.
The damp pattern is not relenting soon, with a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms continuing into the night, mostly cloudy skies, and an ever-present East wind; although a breath of respite is hinted at as the deep moisture could pivot north this Wednesday night. The outlook keeps its wet promises with 40 percent chances of rain stretching into the latter half of the week.
As a glimpse of sunshine begins to return to the forecast, NBC Miami suggests our skies are set to clear slightly, giving a rise in temperatures that could reach above the 90-degree threshold, parts of South Florida never even peaked out of the 70s on Tuesday, showing a cooler than usual start to June for the region.
Miami residents can expect partly sunny skies with scattered storms on Thursday, a pattern that is likely to continue into Friday. While the storms may arrive unpredictably, locals know the importance of staying prepared. High temperatures are forecast to reach around 87 degrees.
