Miami residents are bracing for a continued deluge as forecasters predict ongoing rain and potential flooding. The National Weather Service reports a certainty of showers and thunderstorms, warning of heavy rainfall amounts between one to two inches on Tuesday, with a high near 82 degrees and southeast winds gusting at 7 to 13 mph. Residents should prepare for similar conditions extending into Wednesday, with a slightly higher temperature around 85 degrees and a maintained southeastern wind flow.
"Showers and thunderstorms likely before noon, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm between noon and 2pm, then showers and thunderstorms after 2pm," detailed the National Weather Service report, reminding those within the South Florida region that an elevated chance of precipitation remains at a steadfast 100% for the day. Tonight, conditions are expected to persist with stormy weather and gusts potentially reaching 23 mph, ensuring a wet evening for the Miami area.
Adding to the concern, NBC Miami's weather forecast underscores the situation, pointing out that "very deep moisture continues to pump into South Florida," and residents are observing "rain and occasional thunderstorms" as early as Tuesday morning. The forecast illustrates a persistent pattern of unsettled weather expected to culminate by Wednesday before showing signs of abatement later in the week.
In tandem with the predictions, a flood watch has been dispatched for South Florida until Wednesday morning as reports confirm, several inches of rain have saturated the region. Looking ahead, Thursday offers a marginal respite with partly sunny skies and scattered storms; however, with highs nearing 87 degrees, the forecast thus far appears to promise more water than respite. The weekend is anticipated to follow suit, with a mix of partly cloudy skies and a continued pattern of storms and showers.
