A Miami-Dade County altercation escalated into violence last Friday when a woman was struck by a car and assaulted in front of the Clarion Inn, as evidenced by a video released by authorities. Local 10 News reported the suspect, identified as 43-year-old Nicole Grant of Miami, was arrested for aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
Caught on camera outside the hotel located at 5301 NW 36th St. in Miami Springs, the video shows the victim getting hit by the car while walking with a man, then being dragged as she clung onto the victim's hair, and finally pepper-sprayed in the face by Grant. Although the man's identity was not immediately discernible from the footage, police said the incident was sparked by what appears to be a dispute rooted in a love triangle.
Meanwhile, a depiction of the confrontation from the hotel's parking lot was shared by WSVN, showing Grant violently pulling the woman's hair through the car window and dragging her. They reported that, according to detectives, the provided motive was related to a boyfriend.
The victim, who has elected to remain nameless and declined to voice her experience on camera, sustained minor injuries treated by the authorities. Grant was apprehended following the identification of her car tag and was taken into custody by police in a subsequent felony stop, Local 10 News detailed. There's no official statement yet that explains why Grant committed such violent acts.
