Heads up, Mid-Missouri drivers: there's a slew of roadwork scheduled starting tomorrow until June 22 that could put a wrinkle in your commute plans. According to a detailed bulletin from MoDOT, maintenance and construction will span from pothole patching to full interstate construction, with the potential to impact traffic across various counties.
For nocturnal travelers, nighttime striping is on the calendar for Interstates 70 and 44 for the remainder of June. Delays might be on the horizon as lane closures will be implemented—so keep an eye out for those glittering wet paint signs. And for the daily road warrior, the likes of mowing, routine pavement repairs, and pothole patching are also slated to take place, but no specifics, have been carved in stone as these are subject to shift with the whims of weather.
Diving into county-specific updates, Boone County residents should brace for sidelined lanes as projects like guardrail work on Route E and pedestrian facility upgrades on Route WW (Broadway) get underway. Traffic will be guided through single-lane openings, so prepare to slow down and heed the instructions from flaggers and pilot cars. Significant infrastructure enhancements are in motion too, with interchange improvements and bridge construction on U.S. Route 63 as part of the "Improve I-70" program, as reported by the MoDOT.
Skipping over to Callaway County, Route A and Missouri Route 94 will undergo pavement repairs and roadside work, respectively. Flaggers will, control, traffic to a single lane during work hours. Infrastructural transformations continue to spread, with a culvert replacement project on South Outer Road 70 (Jade Road) closing the route until February 2026 and extended I-70 new pavement construction tailing into 2027.
Further south, Camden County's Route V will see a temporary closure for culvert replacement work. Meanwhile, pedestrian facility upgrades continue along Business Route 54 (Osage Beach Parkway), with temporary pedestrian facility closures and lane restrictions managed by flaggers.
