Tomorrow, Milton’s City Council will hold a meeting at City Hall beginning at 6 p.m. to address several agenda items, including recognition of local student artists and consideration of a new ordinance related to fireworks near horses. The meeting will be held in the Council Chambers and will also be available for viewing on YouTube, according to an announcement from the Milton City.
One key agenda item is a proposed ordinance that would regulate fireworks near horses and barns within Milton city limits. This ordinance follows recent statewide changes that grant municipalities more authority over fireworks regulations.
The Council will also recognize recipients of the Milton Arts Council Scholarship Awards, review a proposed alcohol beverage license for Red and Green LLC doing business as Red Chillez Indian Cuisine, and consider a resolution appointing members to the City of Milton Sustainability Advisory Committee.
Additional agenda items include service agreements for community programs such as toddler music classes offered by Music in the Beat Hive, LLC, and adult recreational programs through partnerships with local sports organizations like Rush Union Soccer. Infrastructure-related proposals include a construction agreement for repairs at Providence Lake Drive and plans for traffic calming measures on Heritage Walk.
Routine items, such as the approval of previous meeting minutes and other service agreements, will also be addressed.
