A California teenager's life was tragically cut short this weekend in a watercraft incident at Lake Havasu. Mohave County Sheriff's Office deputies were dispatched to a scene south of Body Beach after receiving alerts of a person in the water who was not breathing. The victim, a 17-year-old male from Moreno Valley, was found by deputies already on the shore with CPR being administered, ABC15 reported.
Attempts to resuscitate the teenager were unsuccessful as he was pronounced dead after being transported to the hospital. Initial investigations by the Mohave County Sheriff's Office indicate that while the teen was operating a personal watercraft, he mysteriously disappeared from his family's view for a short period. The family, who was present on the shoreline, later saw the teen being found by a passing boater, as per AZFamily.
A teenager was found floating face down in the water, even though they were wearing a life jacket. Detectives think it might have been a crash involving just one boat, but they are still investigating to find out exactly what happened. So far, no other details have been shared, and officials are asking anyone with information to come forward, as per AZ Family.
