In a somber update from the El Paso Police Department, a motorcyclist has been reported dead following a crash on New World Drive. The incident, which has been classified as the city's 29th traffic fatality this year, occurred at the 12100 block of the said roadway, according to the El Paso Police Department.
The motorcyclist was heading east when, for reasons that remain unclear, he locked his brakes. This action caused the motorcycle to skid uncontrollably and crash. The report notes that the rider was not wearing a helmet and sustained a critical head injury upon impact. It is a grim reminder for riders always to wear protective headgear to drastically lower the risk of such fatal injuries. The unidentified rider was quickly transported to a nearby hospital, where they unfortunately succumbed to their injuries.
