
Yesterday, a fatal incident occurred on Interstate 580 when a motorcyclist lost his life after being struck by multiple vehicles. The California Highway Patrol Dublin Area officers responded to the scene of the multiple vehicle crash eastbound on Interstate 580, just east of Airway Boulevard. According to the official social media post made by the CHP Dublin, the accident took place around 2:40 AM.
The report detailed that for reasons not yet known, the rider aboard a Yamaha motorcycle was involved in a crash which resulted in his ejection onto the roadway. The rider, who was not immediately named, was subsequently struck by three other vehicles and pronounced dead at the scene. While the exact cause of the crash is still being determined, investigating officers have not ruled out the involvement of alcohol or drugs.
Traffic on eastbound I-580 experienced significant delays as investigators worked the scene throughout the early morning. The CHP has appealed for witnesses or anyone with relevant information about the crash to come forward. "If you witnessed the crash or can provide pertinent information about the crash, please call the Dublin Area and contact Officer J. Garcia at (925) 828-0466," the CHP Dublin requested in their statement.
