
A motorcycle accident in Encanto left a 45-year-old man with serious injuries last night. According to a press release from the San Diego Police Department, the man was riding a Honda Grom motorcycle northwest on 1700 Republic Street at approximately 9:55 PM when he lost control of the bike.
The report details that he was unable to negotiate a curve in the road and as a result, the side of the road laid the motorcycle down; consequently, the rider came to a stop along the north curbline of the street. The injured motorcyclist was transported to a local hospital with a temporal skull fracture and a facial fracture, the department stated. Despite the severity of the injuries, they are not believed to be life-threatening.
Officer J. Perales, the night's Watch Commander, noted that the Traffic Division of the San Diego Police is investigating the accident. They're asking anyone with information related to the incident to step forward and contact the department or Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477 to assist in the inquiry.
