
Nahant Police and State Police are investigating an assault that occurred on Nahant Beach. According to WHDH, on Tuesday night, a woman was dragged into the bushes near a public restroom and attacked by a man with a knife. She sustained non-life-threatening cuts and was able to escape. She is expected to recover.
Witnesses told WHDH the suspect was wearing a red hoodie and is known to ride a bike in the area.
The attack took place around 9 p.m. near the DCR Halfway Bathhouse, as reported by Boston 25 News.
The first responders provided immediate assistance to the victim. Police have increased patrols in the area and are asking the public to remain alert. A detailed suspect description has not been released, and the investigation is ongoing. Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact police.
